Members are encouraged to update their employment details as well as details of their spouse and children being maintained by them, if any, so as to facilitate the processing of applications for retirement pension and other benefits.
The form on the particulars of members has been sent to your employer. If you need a copy you can click here to download and complete it where applicable and forward through your employer if there is a change in salary details. If not you can send it direct to us at the Seychelles Pension Fund. In case you are self employed please forward direct the form duly completed to the Seychelles Pension Fund.
An employer is required to make a mandatory contribution of R50 per month for any person working on a full time or part time basis. As from the 1st January 2008 every employee should make a contribution of the sum of R50 per month, which is deducted from his or her salary by the employer and remitted to the Seychelles Pension Fund. Self employed workers should make contribution of R100 direct to the Fund.

There is a surcharge of 5% for unpaid contribution calculated to the next higher rupee or a sum of R10 per month whichever is the higher. The surcharge is due to be paid after the expiry of the time limit of 15 days of the following month.

Monthly voluntary contribution of R100 or more will indeed be a great help. On your retirement you will be eligible for your voluntary contribution with interest. You can start right away by writing to instruct your employer to make the deduction from your salary and remit to the Pension Fund or you can make payment directly as is the case with Self -employed workers

There is obviously a need as from the month of January 2006 to provide the Seychelles Pension Fund with the monthly gross salary of each worker in addition to the mandatory pension contribution and voluntary contribution being made.

Your yearly statement of pension accounts to tell you how much you have in your account is normally available latest by the 30th May of the following year. The statement is sent to your employer for distribution to you. However you may request for your statement to be sent directly to you. In the case of self employed worker the statement is sent direct to his or her home address.
You are requested to verify and ensure that your contribution and balance on your statement is in order. In case of discrepancy or you require any clarification kindly contact us at the earliest.
